spartans are never listed as KIA they are listed as MIA to make people believe they are invicible.but commandos can die if they couldnt there would be no repcom novels with omega squad (i think its omega squad)

omega squad is made up of the surviving members of other squads.darman is the only survivor from his squad and the rest are from other squads it says in the repcom novel hard contact
