Bravo squad

RED TEAM.

It was getting dark and there hadnt been anymore shots for about an hour. He'd been listening in on the enemy comms when they attacked Alpha squad, it was brutal and their team captain had gone missing right after the attack. At least we were winning, for the moment he thought. From his place on the roof he could see anyone approaching from all directions. He'd instructed his squad to place sensors in the maintenance tunnels under the building. If he were going to infiltrate this place, thats how he'd get in.

"Everything's clear down here, sarge."

"Good, fall back to the second floor. If you've got any claymore's, set them on the stairs," he paused to bring up his map" be ready to bail if we come under fire". He'd chosen this building because it was unstable. It'd only take one small shock to bring it down. He'd had his squad create a makeshift walkway to the next building from some planks and metal bars they'd found on the second floor. So far things were quiet but he was tracking an enemy team moving close by, they were probably looking for FuriousA$$a$$in. Going by how quickly she wiped out the BLUE squad she was one hell of a fighter. Still, he'd rather not meet her. She seemed to attract trouble.

"sarge, i'm picking up movement in the tunnels" it was Locust-king. He'd played matches with the guy before, he wasnt very good.

"Ok, dont move. let them come to you," His motion sensor showed movement too, they were in the streets aswell. They were right next to him, he removed a grenade from his pocket, pulled the pin and dropped it over the edge." look out, they're in the streets too"

"Copy that, sarge"

"Hold on, i'm picking up movement in the building". The guy sounded suprised and slightly scared.

"Calm down, monkey. Just get across the walkway, all of you". If they were in the building he would have to jump, he wasnt gonna risk close quarters combat.

"yes sir"

"FUCK! they're right outsi-" There was a loud pop and the comm went dead.

"Squad, report. REPORT damn it!" Things had gone to shit. His map showed that his team were in the room with the walkway. He could try and lure the enemy out into the street while his squad took them down. The rope was secured, he stepped over the edge and began his descent down the building. Below him someone kicked open the door and ran out followed by three others. It was the blue squad. Something was up, and why werent his squad responding? He detached himself from the rope and jogged to the front of the building.

"Space monkey?, Locust? Fizzb-" There was a loud bang and then he was flying. A wave of heat and pressure lifting him up and throwing him through the air. There was a moment of weightlessness then he crashed down onto the street, hard. The air was forced from his lungs, he tried to sit up while gasping for breath.

"Squad...rep...report," He couldnt breath but he kept trying "squad...report. Is...is anyone alive in there". His vision started to blur, he could hear bells ringing then everything went black.

She was making her way down an alleyway to meet up with Charlie squad when she heard the blast. She'd called in a UAV as soon as it happened. A building to the southwest of her current position was on fire. She zoomed in on a shape a few feet from  the fire, it was a person. The marker on his arm showed he was a member of red team, he was injured. She set a marker to his postion and set off.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Those dumb bastards made it too easy, they'd tracked them to what used to be a shop of some kind. It wasnt hard to get their attention, one guy went in through the tunnels to alert them, while the rest went in through a back door. It was easy to get the door off, even easier to disarm the landmine they'd set. The fools had chosen to hide in a room on the second floor, he sent two guys up to distract them while he and the other squad member set the generator in the basement to blow. The whole thing took less than 10 minutes. Payback for the two squads they'd lost to those bastards. They were half way back to the rendezvous point when the sky lit up and they heard the boom, he couldnt help but laugh.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When she arrived the place was still burning and the fire had spread to the buildings on either side. The blast had thrown the guy down the street. His wounds werent too bad but she needed to find a medic, she patched him up with the small medical kit in her back pack as best she could. They couldnt stay here, he was heavy but she managed to drag him into a shop. She brought up the team list and began searching for a medic.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He felt strange, but he was alive and if he was then maybe his squad were too. He tried to sit up but the pain in his side was too great so he lay back down. His personal stats wouldnt come up on his H.U.D, he thought his helmet was broken until he realised he wasnt wearing it or his body armour.

"Dont overdo it, your still pretty banged up" someone was in the room with him, they were typing away on a small computer.

"Who are you?" he asked, keeping his voice neutral

"I'm Charlie squad's medic, but my gamertag is The dude and she," he nodded across the room to a soldier leant against the wall "is the one who dragged you in here and called us in"

"Thanks" he managed to get to his feet with a little help from the medic and another soldier who then wandered off into the other room. The medic sat back down and went back to typing on his computer.

"Your lucky to be alive, sarge. If we hadnt arrived when we did you'd be dead now"

"Well thanks again. Can i put my armour back on, doc, i'm feeling  kinda exposed here"

"oh sorry, sure"

"Nice" he slipped his armour back on slowly to avoid trying not to reopen his wounds. When he reached for his helmet the medic stood up and blocked him.

"Hold on a sec, i gotta make sure you dont have any brain damage". He removed a small device from a pocket on his vest and held it in front of the squad leaders face. After a second he placed it back into his pocket and sat down.

"That mean i'm ok?"

"Oh, yeah. Your fine". He said without looking up from his computer. Sarge moved to the table and picked up his rifle but noticed upon closer inspection it was broken.

"What're you doing?" He looked up and saw the speaker. It was the one who rescued him. The medic folded up his computer and left the room, they were alone now.

"I'm going to look for my squad of course" he looked back down and picked up his shotgun, It was fine.

"They're dead" she was whispering, it made him stop.

"Did you see their bodies, boss?" he asked quietly, she winced as if she were in pain.

"No, but nobody could've survived that blast"

"I did"

"You were outside the building"

"So what? I have to know". He finished loading his weapon and moved towards the door but she stood in the way.

"Dont go, we need your help".

"I'll come back once i've had a look. There might be survivors that need help, but if there arent i'll come right back". He stepped around her and a second later he was gone. She waited a moment, locked the door then went into the other room. The squad had spread out and they all turned when she entered the room.

"You seen our squad leader? He just fucked off right after the game started". The soldier in the corner of the room asked.

"Who's your squad leader?"

"That bounty hunter guy". It was the medic who spoke but didnt stop typing.

"N-no, I havent seen him". She didnt know why she felt uneasy not knowing where he was. He was on her team so he probably wouldnt shoot her, although she wouldnt put it past him.

"I wonder why he would go off on his own, wouldnt he stand a better chance if he stayed with us?"

"No, you saw him on the dropship, didnt you?," the third member of the squad answered "He sat on his own and when we landed he stayed away from the rest of us until the captain called him over. Plus he said he was only here for the bounty's, so it makes sense that he'd go off on his own. We'd just slow him down". The soldier had a thick texan accent.

"Hmm....cool". Outside it had started to rain.

Well, I guess the one guy would enjoy it until it finally spread to him. Then he'd sit on the toilet and cry.
