Clone sniper by halonut117 Clone sniper by halonut117
I love the clone troopers, they are the best thing in starwars, in my opinion and I hate the way that they're ordered to certain death and treated like they're just cannon fodder in the movies, books and tv shows. That's what droids are for.

One thing I never liked about their design though is that they aren't kitted out very well. They have barely enough room for ammo and a couple of grenades if they're lucky so I thought I'd have a go at redesigning them.

So here's a Clone sniper. Trained to take out high value targets, observe enemy positions and provide long range cover fire. Their armour is lighter than most other Clone units as they need to be able to move quickly and quietly through enemy territory. This trooper has customised his armour with a hood, tactical wrist mounted computer and a dark brown colour scheme to help blend in.

apologies for the quality of the work and the image but it's on A3 and I colour like a 5 year old having a fit

have you read the Republic Commando book series by Karen Traviss?
it tells a much better story about the clone wars from the perspective of the Spec Ops Commando clones, from being down in the dirt behind enemy lines, to undercover urban operations, to eventually trying to find a way out of the war without dying... how would you feel if you aged twice as fast, never had a family beyond your brothers and the old Mercs they hired as your Drill Sergeants and Instructors, and have no foreseeable future besides being killed on some borderplanet for a cause you don't fully understand?

yeah, I love the series. I'd be pissed off to say the least, which is why I like Kal'buir so much. He loves them like they're his own children and he'll do anything to see that they have a normal life.

its a shame that Traviss won't be doing anymore, or at least thats what I heard :(

Thanks to the Clone Wars tv show retconing the entire Mandalorian backstory, and for what? 10 to 20 episodes? maybe?
