well the clone scout trooper armor have camouflage but only suited for jungle operations but the rest sadly has only white color and the paint stripes only denotes affiliation to a unit and the pockets and pouches as well as some sort of backpack would have more sense rather than the utility belt they have.
I guess the in-universe creators of the armor have little to no idea about such things..,
Those guys really caught my eye when I watched ROTS the first time. sadly there was no extended jungle fight sequence involving Gree and his troops. urban camo wouldn't be too difficult, just change the green to grey/blue/whatever colour the battlefield is. The clones are gonna be able to tell each other apart and a simple badge or insignia with their unit name/number on would suffice. gah, if only they'd had me on staff when making the movie
there is a possibility that the original stormtrooper armor belt is based on the Vietnam-era pouches, specifically the M-1956 Load-Carrying Equipment which is located around the waist only, example david.brubakers.us/Vietnam/pic… (the several pouches in other body parts seems to be only recent), and since the clone trooper are the predecessor of the stormtroopers, their armor should likely be based from them.
Still, the design of the clone troopers and stormtroopers in the movie appear that they are not much suited for combat, having less pouches to carry additional powercells and ammunition and other kits.
